Yes, you read that right ... the duvet cover is finished and on the bed! At times it felt like it would never get done, but done it is. DH helped me with the laying out on the floor to pin the final seam and it is SOOOOOO much easier with two people at this stage!! I really don't know how I've managed it before on my own.
I'm so pleased this is on the bed now because it is perfect for summer :)

Absolutely lovely finish Helen! I love the 30's retro prints.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the finish!... I agree, absolutely lovely! Great secondary pattern too...

Oh I just love this!!! Great work, beautiful "duvet" cover! We call them "doonas" over here and I've never liked them, but seeing how you have made a beautiful "quilt" cover... I just might change my mind:-) I own several "doonas" with no covers at all as I didn't like anything in the shops - now I might just make my own cover, thank you!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and spring-like!
ReplyDeleteThis is just gorgeous!!! Am seriously giving thought to making a duvet cover for myself as well (once I whittle down some of my UFOs)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Helen, well worth the work and frustration. Your room looks very inviting.

it turned out so pretty and summery....I am glad you had the help!
ReplyDeleteThe cover is very nice. I'm working on a shoo fly quilt now too - I have the blocks just need to figure out the setting. I'm wondering though how you made this a duvet cover - is there a pocket of fabric that is behind the shoo flys? Seems the sewing might get weak if it was handled while putting the comforter in and out... Thanks in advance... June
