DD9P Quilting ...

The Double Disappearing Nine Patch has now been quilted.  I used a variation of one of Patsy Thompson's patterns from her Fast and Free DVDs.  Only binding to go ... do you think I can  have an August finish?

Have you heard about ...

... the Double Disappearing Nine Patch? Well I hadn't until I came across it on Christina's blog.   What a great idea to do the technique twice.  This gave me just the incentive I needed to get a new project underway.  I started with some nickels (5" square charms) and yardage.

A few seams and slices later and this was taking shape on my design wall!  Brilliant :)

PS:  I realise that the colours are looking very dull in the second photo - the first photo is more realistic and they look much nicer in person :)

Bunny II Finished.

The second Bunny fabric quilt is done.

Can't decide what to work on next, but definately something different and less intensively quilted :)

Finally the quilting is finished. Boy, this took a long time - I won't be doing this much detailed quilting on a quilt to be given away in a hurry!! It was a good practice piece though, as I did a different fill around each feather wreath. I used a whole spool of Gutermann thread on the background fills alone and had to dash out to buy another to finish them up. Just the binding to go and this one will be done :)
