Ribbon Girl's colour challenge today was announced as 'brown', I just had to make it! I'm also entering it in the following challenges: Retro Sketch #86; Crafty Little Fairies's Challenge - Christmas in October; Shopping Our Stash's Challenge - Oldest Ribbon/Fiber.
The image is Lili of the Valley's Christmas Candle, stamped in Distress Ink and colour pulled with a damp brush to shade. The sentiment is also LOTV. The main background paper is a book page, altered with Distress Inks and Tim Holtz's Visual Artistery Collection stamps. Frantage was used around the edges of the main image, which was also given the addition of Woodware's Fluffy Stuff. I didn't have any threads of the right colour/thickness, so I created single crochet chains with some silk threads left over from my crazy quilting days (at least 6 years ago). Button from old shirt.
This was a labour intensive card to make, but so much fun :)
